With funding provided by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and managed by the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), the WCS Climate Adaptation Fund will provide up to $3.1 million in competitive grants in 2012. Grants will be 1-2 years in length. Awards will be made to non-profit conservation organizations for applied, on-the-ground projects focused on implementing priority conservation actions for climate adaptation at a landscape scale. La Asociación para la Conservación de la Cuenca Amazónica (ACCA) en convenio con Amazon Conservation Asociation (ACA) y con el financiamiento de la Fundación Klorfine, convocan al concurso para “Becas de investigación para estudiantes universitarios y tesistas”. Se otorgaran dos becas de investigacion este 2011, el plazo limite para presentar las propuestas es el 20 de Agosto, se daran los resultados el 30 de Agosto. La investigacion se debera llevar a cabo como maximo hasta el dia 15 de Diciembre del 2011.

La Convocatoria “Green Talents – The International Forum for High Potentials in Sustainable Development” financia un viaje a Alemania con visitas a las más reconocidas instituciones (universidades, centros de investigación y empresas) en los diferentes sectores del desarrollo sostenible (energía, clima, recursos naturales, etc.). Incluye también la financiación de una segunda estadía en Alemania para un proyecto de investigación de hasta 3 meses.

The International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis IIASA is accepting on-line applications for the 2011 Postdoctoral Program, which provides young scholars with up to two years of hands-on professional experience in an international scientific environment near Vienna, Austria. The Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) and the Zoologisches Forschungsmuseum Alexander Koenig, Bonn (ZFMK) are pleased to announce the call for applications of the third UNEP/CMS Thesis Award on Migratory Species Conservation, sponsored by Lufthansa.

The UNEP/CMS Thesis Award on Migratory Species Conservation was launched by the Secretariat of the Bonn Convention on Migratory Species, on the occasion of its 25^thAnniversary in 2004. It was conferred for the first time at the 8^th Conference of the Parties in 2005.

The Award amounting to € 10,000 is conferred every three years at the Conference of the Parties. The thesis should provide new data and insights into the biology of migratory species or external factors disrupting their migration patterns. Research results must be applicable to conservation measures for the benefit of migratory species.

The application process for 2011 is now open. The winner will be awarded at the 10^th Meeting of the Conference of Parties to CMS (COP10) in Norway in November 2011. The deadline for submission of the thesis is 15 April 2011.
